The „Lacul Știucii” natural rezervation
At 10 km from Gherla, Lacul Știucii (Lacul Știucii, Săcălaia or Sic) is the most famous wetland in the Fizeș Plain. This is the only natural lake in Transylvania that has not been arranged for fish farming, it is the deepest (7 m) natural (sweet) lake of Transylvania, and with the largest area in the Fizeş Basin. At the same time, it is the only lake in Transylvania on which the plaur (floating islands of reeds) is formed, as in the Danube Delta. Lacul Știucii has been a Nature Reserve since 1966.

The „Cheile Turzii” natural rezervation
A splendid karst landscape (gorges, caves, towers, walls) that is breathtaking and which shelters a rich and varied vegetation and fauna, the number of species (about 1000) being considered the largest in Romania. Cheile Turzii is located in the eastern part of the Apuseni Mountains and has acquired, at national level, since 1938, the status of a natural reservation, then being included in the lists of the U.N.E.S.C.O. among the most important monuments of nature.
There are app. 1,000 floristic species in Cheile Turzii, plant species among which rare calcophile plants, some endemic, such as: wild garlic (popularly called onion Crows of the Key), Jugastul, Scorusul, Piciorul Cocoșului, Garofița albă, odoleanul, omagul, stanjenelul violaceu, vulturica, etc.

The „Valea Legiilor” natural zoological rezervation
The natural area is located in the eastern extremity of Cluj County, in the western part of Geaca village and the eastern part of law village, being an avifaunistic reservation. The protected area is represented by areas with wet meadows, water luster and swamp areas, meeting plants such as rush reeds; and includes the law valley, the Law Lake, the Valley of the Law, the Valley of the Mill and the western portion of Lake Geaca.
In the area of the reservation ,over 120 hectares, you can find several species of migratory birds nest, among which: great egret, gray heron, pond owl, northern lapwing, common moorhen , coot and several species of ducks.
Mixed Nature Reservation "Făgetul Clujului"
It is located in feleacu village and was declared a nature reserve in 1974. Among the protected habitats in this area are: forest habitats (sessile oak, beech, hornbeam) and marsh habitats, with floristic, faunistic and landscape importance. Among the protected plant species we find the moşişoara, the pipiriguţul, the mountain curechiul, the bell. Regarding the fauna we find especially butterflies (catax moth, red swamp butterfly) as well as mammals (marten, squirrel, deer, wild boar) and birds (nightingale, finches), etc.
The nature reserve aims to ensure optimal conditions for the protection and restoration of species, plant and animal communities significant from a national point of view.
The Great Cave on the Firei Valley
The Great Cave on the Firei Valley is a speleological nature reserve, located in Cluj County, on the administrative territory of Mărgău commune. Nature reserve declared a protected area by Law No. 5 of March 6, 2000. it covers an area of 2 hectares and is an integral part of the karst system The Cave with Water in the Firei Valley.
The protected area located in the upper basin of the Someşul Cald River (between The Firei Valley and the Ponorului Valley) is a complex cave structured on two levels. The upper level consisting of multiple halls (Ondine Hall, Dance Hall, Club Hall, Pocket Hall, Wonder Hall, Suspended Hall, Giants Hall, Pagoda Hall, Window Hall) with concretory forms (stalactites, stalagmites, garlands, canopies) and parietal calcite leaks, connected by galleries (Marmite Gallery, Tributary Gallery, Asset Gallery) and the lower level where there is an underground river.
